This is one of the easiest words to remember and use which means: seriously, really, truely (sometimes; very). It is certainly known as slang but has a very long history from the samurai generation, coming from a japanese word with the same meaning “majime”.
It can be used absolutely the same as above: “Seriously?=Maji?” “Really sleepy.= Maji nemui.” “Very cute!=Maji kawaii!”.
Used by both boys/girls , a little bit frank.
